Hi! I'm Lauren Hunt
Becoming a therapist felt like an extension of who I already was. After hearing too many people share that they never had a safe or trusted person in their life, I knew I wanted to be that steady presence for others. The name Be Yourself Counseling is deeply personal to me because it reflects the kind of space I hope to create: one where clients feel respected for who they are, supported as they grow, and encouraged to reconnect with the most authentic parts of themselves. It is a privilege to sit with people in their most vulnerable moments and offer a space where they are not judged or fixed, but accepted, supported, and encouraged to grow with intention.
I work with adults, adolescents, and children, and I value connecting with people across all ages and stages of life. I show up engaged, real, and responsive to each person's needs. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I offer feedback, reflection, and honest support rather than sitting silently, while always respecting each client's autonomy and right to move at their own pace.
My love of creativity, games, and problem solving naturally carries into my work, creating comfort, trust, and meaningful ways to engage in therapy. Some clients have described it as a geek style of therapy, which fits the way I use creativity and connection to support the process.
Outside of therapy, family, my animals, nature, and music keep me grounded. I am drawn to experiences that bring connection, balance, and a sense of calm. Through Be Yourself Counseling, I serve individuals across Florida and Ohio through telehealth, with a vision of growing a practice that continues to hold warmth, integrity, and authentic care at its center.
