Who we are
This website is operated by Be Yourself Counseling ("we," "us," or "our"), located at 7702 Massachusetts Ave, New Port Richey, FL 34653. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
This policy covers this website only. Information you share with us as a client during therapy, including your clinical records, is protected under HIPAA and applicable state law and is described in our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive at intake.
Information we collect
Information you choose to give us
When you fill out the contact form on this website, we collect:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address and phone number
- The message you write
- Your consent choices (agreement to this Privacy Policy, and whether you agreed to receive text messages and phone calls)
If you email or call us directly, we receive the information you choose to share in that message or call.
Information collected automatically
If you allow analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed, how long visits last, the general location (city or region) of visitors, device and browser type, and how visitors arrived at the site. We do not use this information to identify you personally. If you decline analytics cookies, Google Analytics does not load and none of this information is collected.
Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) when your browser requests a page. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Contact form submissions
Our contact form is processed by Netlify, our website host. When you submit the form, your submission is stored in our Netlify account and sent to us by email so we can respond to you. The form is protected from spam by Google reCAPTCHA and a hidden spam-trap field.
We use form submissions only to respond to your inquiry, answer your questions, and schedule a consultation or appointment. We do not sell form submissions or use them for advertising. Submissions are not shared with Google Analytics.
Please do not include health, diagnosis, or other clinical details in the contact form. The website form and regular email are not designed for sharing protected health information. We will discuss those details with you through secure channels once we connect.
We keep form submissions only as long as needed to respond to you and schedule services, and then delete them from our website account. If you become a client, information needed for your care becomes part of your clinical record and is handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. When you first visit this site, a banner asks whether you allow analytics cookies. Analytics cookies are off until you choose to accept them, and you can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we remove the analytics cookies we set.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, session recording, or chat widgets. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the contact form from working.
Text messages and phone calls
Agreeing to receive text messages and phone calls is optional and is not a condition of receiving services. If you check the box on our contact form, you agree that Be Yourself Counseling may contact you at the number you provide by text message and phone about your inquiry and appointments. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, or by contacting us using the information below. We do not share your phone number or consent with third parties for their marketing.
Third-party services
This website relies on the following third parties, each of which handles data under its own privacy policy:
- Netlify (website hosting and form processing): netlify.com/privacy
- Google Analytics (site usage statistics, only with your consent): policies.google.com/privacy. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Google reCAPTCHA (spam protection on the contact form): policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/terms
- Psychology Today (the "Verified by Psychology Today" badge on our home page, which loads from their servers and receives basic technical information such as your IP address; it does not set cookies on this site): psychologytoday.com privacy policy
Links to our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and to Google Maps take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies. Nothing from those services loads on this website until you click a link.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share information only with the service providers listed above so they can run this website for us, or when required by law.
Our website is built and maintained by a contracted website administrator who manages our hosting account on our behalf. Because form submissions are stored in that account, our administrator may be able to view them. They access submissions only when needed to maintain the website, troubleshoot problems, or support our practice, do not use or share them for any other purpose, and are required to keep them confidential.
Data security
This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Access to form submissions is limited to our practice and our website administrator, who accesses them only as described above. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, which is one reason we ask that you not send clinical details through the website.
Children's privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them through the site. Parents or guardians seeking services for a minor are welcome to contact us on the minor's behalf.
Your choices
- Change or withdraw analytics consent at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page.
- Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving texts.
- Ask us to delete a contact form submission you sent, using the contact information below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website or the law changes. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
